What is Clinical Psychology?

Clinical psychologists help people make positive changes to their thinking, behaviour and relationships. We aim to understand people’s thoughts, feelings and actions and work with them to help them manage or overcome their psychological distress and improve their emotional wellbeing. We are not about changing people but about working with them to help them facilitate change in their lives.

The assessment and treatments we offer are based on research and clinical experience. Although we are Doctors we are not medical doctors and therefore do not prescribe medication. Clinical psychologists work with all kinds of people from children through to the elderly and often work across a number of settings.
